Expert calls inflation and rising prices in the U.S. the reason for the Democrats' loss
Inflation and rising prices in the United States, which the country has come to under the rule of the current president Joe Biden, have left no chance for the Democrats to win. Such an opinion in a conversation with "Izvestia" on January 16
Yevgeny Minchenko, president of the Minchenko Consulting communications holding company, shared this opinion.
"Inflation and rising prices coupled with migration have become the two main problems that have buried the Democratic Party's chances of winning its candidate," he said.
Minchenko specified that under Biden, large amounts of money were invested in the country's economy and a large-scale program of investment in infrastructure was launched. All this, according to the expert, the presidential administration promoted as its "main success," but such a strategy was criticized for irrational spending of budgetary funds and investments in politically motivated projects with non-obvious economic efficiency.
"These large-scale injections into the economy provoked inflation, which, incidentally, Biden's team tried to call 'Putin's inflation,' as if writing it off to higher energy prices," Minchenko summarized.
Earlier, January 14, it was reported that the majority of U.S. residents believe that during Biden's tenure , the situation in the economy, the fight against crime in the country has deteriorated. According to a Gallup poll, 59% agreed that the economic situation had deteriorated, while 67% of Americans surveyed said that the situation with the national debt had worsened.
At the time, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that the legacy that President-elect Trump is receiving after the Biden administration is a difficult one. He noted, Russia expects the new US administration to formulate its approaches to international affairs, adding that Trump had voiced such a desire.
The inauguration ceremony of the President-elect of the United States will be held on January 20, 2025.
