It is specified that the ceremony was accompanied by the Military Model Band of the guard of honor.
The Iranian leader laid a wreath of scarlet roses and white lilies at the tomb. He also paid tribute to the memory of the fallen soldiers with a minute of silence.
Pezeshkian arrived in Russia on an official visit earlier in the day. The Iranian leader was met in Moscow by Russian Energy Minister Sergei Tsivilev, Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko and head of the Russian Foreign Ministry's State Protocol Department Igor Bogdashev.
On the eve, the Kremlin press service said that Russian leader Vladimir Putin and his Iranian counterpart will sign the Treaty on Strategic Partnership between Russia and Iran, which reflects the entry of bilateral relations to a new level. In addition, the treaty fixes a legal framework for further development of Russian-Iranian ties in all areas for the long-term perspective.
During the talks, Putin and Pezeshkian may discuss the situation in Syria, the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone and the situation in the Transcaucasus, as well as the Iranian nuclear program.
