There were 247 traffic accidents in Russia over the past day
Over the past day on Russian roads 247 accidents were recorded, in which 26 people, including 21 drivers and passengers, were killed, and 317 people were injured. This was reported to "Izvestia" on Friday, January 17, in the State Automobile Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
As a result of 87 traffic accidents involving pedestrians, five people were killed, another 86 were injured of varying severity. Among the victims are 12 child pedestrians, they were injured at crosswalks. Of the total number of accidents involving pedestrians, 38 occurred at crosswalks and 49 outside their zone of action.
19 accidents involving buses were recorded on Russian roads, in which six people were killed and 21 other road users required medical assistance. Five accidents involving buses were caused by violations of traffic rules committed by their drivers. In 14 cases other road users caused the accident.
Thus, in Tyumen, the driver of a school bus in the daytime, when approaching the place of passenger pick-up and drop-off near an educational organization, hit a nine-year-old schoolboy who slipped on the sidewalk and fell under the bus wheel. As a result of the accident, the young pedestrian received bodily injuries and after medical care was sent for outpatient treatment.
With the participation of minors on Thursday, 31 accidents were registered, in which 34 young road users were injured, including 21 passengers. One child passenger died.
In the Stavropol region in the evening on a regional highway, a 24-year-old driver of a passenger car with less than a year of driving experience went into the oncoming lane, where he collided with two other cars. As a result of the accident, the daughter of the perpetrator of the car accident, born in 2024, who was being transported in the back seat in a child restraint device, died. The use of a seat belt was not established. The driver himself and another passenger are hospitalized with injuries. There were no other injuries.

In addition, in connection with atmospheric pressure fluctuations, the State Automobile Inspectorate recommends drivers to be more attentive to their well-being. January 15, it was reported that the State Duma developed a bill to increase fines for drivers of vehicles with a maximum speed of 30 km / h, who do not mark their car with a special sticker "Quiet vehicle". The deputies propose to make such a violation a separate offense and increase fines from 500 to 3 thousand rubles.
