The State Duma has introduced a bill on passing in five regions only two subjects at the USE
State Duma deputies have proposed allowing only two subjects to be compulsory after grade 9 instead of four as part of a temporary pilot project in five regions. The bill was posted on January 17 in the electronic database of the lower house of the Russian parliament.
"In accordance with the norm of the bill, in order to receive a document on basic general education (certificate) it is necessary to successfully pass GIA-9 only in two compulsory academic subjects - "Russian language" and "Mathematics", and not in four, as it is provided by the current order of the state final certification on educational programs of basic general education", - stated in the explanatory note.
It is also proposed to test a new order of enrollment of applicants for training in programs of secondary vocational education at the expense of regional and local budgets.
It is proposed to establish a special procedure in 2025 in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Rostov and Tyumen regions, as well as North Ossetia.
According to the authors of the initiative, the measures will make it possible to maximize the number of schoolchildren receiving a certificate of basic general education and the number of those entering vocational education institutions.
On December 11, 2024, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation and Rosobrnadzor approved the schedule of the main state examination for 2025. Thus, the exams of the early period of the OGE in 2025 will begin on April 22, and the main period - on May 21 and 22.
Prior to that, on December 1, expert Marina Stepanova expressed the opinion that the abolition of the USE for college entrance would be difficult to implement. At the same time, she called the idea of leaving only two compulsory exams after the ninth grade a good one.
